Description

The Church of St Mary and St Ambrose, built in 1897-98 by J A Chatwin, is a large church located on Pershore Road in Edgbaston. It features a north-west tower with a spire and an apsidal west baptistry. The church is constructed of bright red brick with deep red terracotta dressings and details, showcasing a Decorated style. Notable architectural elements include crisply modelled terracotta mullions, tracery, pinnacles, and finials. The church has nave aisles, a chancel, and short transepts, with a clerestory situated above terracotta-faced arcades.
