Yew Tree Cottages

Yew Tree Cottages, located at 322 and 324 Booth's Lane, are likely of late 17th century origin and were altered in the early 19th century to serve as two tenements. The building is two storeys high and constructed of stuccoed brick. The front block features two regular bays with rusticated quoins, which are probably original. Each floor has two windows with three 20th century leaded lights, set beneath what are likely original deep caveto drip moulds. The wall head is capped with flat parapet coping. The early 19th century slate roof includes a central stack, while the rear wing has a tiled roof from the 18th century, along with early 19th century and modern casement windows. The entrance to No 320 features a six-panel door flanked by very slender pairs of fluted cast iron columns, all beneath a hood. No 322 has a plain doorway. The interior was refurbished in the early 19th century, showcasing corner block architrave doorcases and boxed in beams.
