Description
Lock Number 2 is a lock on the Tame Valley Canal, built between 1841 and 1844, with some 20th-century alterations. It features a brick chamber and wing walls topped with stone copings. The lock has a single wooden top gate and double steel bottom gates, each equipped with two sets of mechanical ground paddle gearing. There are brick heel grip platforms and a set of original ladders with iron rungs located on the bottom wing walls. The wing walls are also fitted with iron rubbing curbs.
