Description

COLMORE ROW 1. 5104 City Centre B3 No 130 SP 0686 NE 33/20 21.1.70 II GV 2. Includes No 26 Waterloo Street. Early C20 and in an Edwardian Baroque style. Stone on a granite plinth. Two storeys; 3 bays plus the polygonal corner with entrance. Banded rustication. Ground floor with 3 arched windows with large keystones. First floor a temple front with 3 windows with pediments in the rhythm segmental: triangular: segmental and Ionic pilasters and columns supporting a richly detailed pediment. The entrance beneath a large broken segmental pediment with coat of arms. Above that, windows and a giant order of Ionic columns and piers, a clock and then a cupola with coupled columns in the diagonals. The return on Waterloo Street with 3 arched windows and the entrance to No 26 Waterloo Street and a first floor oriel window set between coupled Ionic pilasters that carry a broken segmental pediment and 4 pedimented windows with garlands above.
