Description
Nos 122 and 124 on Colmore Row, built in 1900 by Lethaby and Ball for the Eagle Insurance Company, are Grade I listed buildings. Constructed mainly of stone with some brick, they rise four storeys and feature five bays. The ground floor has a large five-light mullioned and transomed window, with symmetrical doorways on either side that have simple two-light windows and sculptured plaques above. Each of the first, second, and third floors contains uniform sash windows set between pilasters. The windows on the third floor are topped with a frieze of Romanesque design, featuring alternating semi-circular and triangular pediments. The attic storey displays a chequer work pattern, incorporating plain blank discs and a centrally placed eagle. The original metal doors and much of the interior furnishings and fittings are still intact.
