Description
14 Anchorage Road is a building dating from around 1900, designed in a mixed Arts and Crafts style. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings, some of which feature carved cartouches. The building has a varied height, with parts consisting of three storeys and others of two storeys, and it is four bays wide. The first bay features a broad polygonal canted bay window on the ground floor, with two sash windows above on the first floor. The second bay is a recessed porch with a timber-framed structure and a gable above, alongside a T-shaped window beneath a sloping roof. Above this, there is a canted bow window located beneath the eaves of the roof. The three-storey bay combines the front and first-floor windows, with the front floor window being a shallow canted bay window, and a four-light window in the gable. The building showcases excellent metalwork, along with significant leaded and stained glass elements.
