Description
The Offices of Community Industry is a corner building dating from around 1900, designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It stands two storeys tall, with an attic and basement, and features a hipped slate roof. A three-storey bay extends through the eaves on the south front, complemented by ridge cresting and a red brick chimney stack at the rear, along with overhanging eaves. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is constructed of red brick.
The building has gabled dormers facing the road and a full-height south bay that includes four-light small-pane glazing, with boarded and swept aprons that connect to the cornices. There is a two-storey, three-light oriel window treatment at the splayed angle bay. A diagonal bay is positioned over the central porch on the road front, which is topped with a lean-to hood supported by turned openwork timber brackets.
To the right, a lower two-storey range curves uphill and features a cantilevered bay at the first-floor level. The adjoining right-hand building has been removed.
