Description
The Parish Room and house, built in 1890, is a commemorative building designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It features a main block with six bays and an attached dwelling at the east end. The building has a steeply-pitched tile roof, with tall half-dormers that have a half-hipped design and brick dentil eaves. The walls are constructed of red brick in English bond, accented with darker headers, a plinth, and two buttresses.
The windows include one original three-light casement with cusped heads, while the others are later metal frames. The west gable is notable for its central shafted chimney stack, flanked by tall windows on either side, and a gabled porch on the north side. The house section features tile-hung walling with both plain and scalloped bands, a large gable that contains an oriel window, and a tiled hipped door hood supported by large brackets above a plain door. Additionally, there are outshots with small openings, and the chimney stacks are ribbed. The rainwater heads are dated.
