Description

Cranford Cottage is a 17th and 18th century timber-framed house located on Spring Lane in Burghclere. The building features a later extension on the west side and outshots at each end. It is one storey high with an attic and has irregular window arrangements. The roof is covered with new tiles, which have replaced the original thatch. There are two dormers with cills at eaves level, featuring Gothic cast-iron casements. The exposed frame includes painted brick infill and other walling, while the outshots have boarded walls. The ground floor has plain cast-iron casements, and there is a boarded door set in a solid frame. The rear wall is rendered.
