Description
The lodge and drive gate piers to Spring Cottage, built between 1840 and 1850, is a white painted single-storey brick structure located on Wellington Road in Edgbaston. It features a hipped slate roof and a chimney stack with a cornice. The elevation is asymmetrical, with coupled iron framed small pane round headed windows on the left side, and an off-centre canted bay that has a larger round headed iron framed window at the front. To the right, there is an inset porch, and all the arches are connected by an impost band. A similar window is found on the west wing. The brick gate piers are topped with ball finials that are embedded in cornice caps.
