Description

Quakers Walk Lodge and gates, located at Roundway Park, were built in the mid-19th century. The lodge is constructed of squared rubble stone and features a concrete tile roof with end wall stacks, each topped with an octagonal shaft. This two-storey, three-window cottage has a picturesque design, highlighted by a bargeboarded projecting centre gable and gablets above the first-floor side windows. There is stone corbelling beneath the first floor. The centre of the lodge includes a Tudor-arched doorway with a hoodmould, and above it, a first-floor oriel window with a 1:2:1-light configuration set on an ashlar base, topped with a stone slate roof. The sides of the lodge have casement windows with hoodmoulds, featuring two-light windows with shutters above and three-light windows below. There are 20th-century additions at the rear.

A curving low stone wall with spearhead railings connects to the large gates that span the drive. The main gate piers are made of ashlar and feature cornices with urn finials, while the outer piers are plain ashlar. The ornate cast-iron gates are adorned with anthemion finials and intricate lower panels, with anthemion-head rails on either side resting on an ashlar base.
