Description

Park Bridge is one of four bridges over the canal, all sharing the same design. It features a large stilted stone arch, with radiating chamfered voussoirs and a central keystone. The chamfered joints are carried horizontally through the archway. At road level, there is a projecting string and a solid stone parapet with weathered coping. The design is utilitarian for its time and lacks pretension in architectural quality, but it is well built and showcases an effective, simple treatment of stonework.
