Description
St Mary's Cottages, located at 1042 New Park Road, are an early 18th-century group of cottages arranged in an L shape around a yard, backing onto the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin on New Park Street. The cottages are two storeys tall, constructed of red brick with grey headers, and feature steeply pitched old tile roofs with hipped gable ends. The front facing the churchyard has three and two-light camber-headed casements, some of which retain their original iron frames, with segmental header arches above them. The entrances to the yard are located at Nos 2 and 3, where the ground floor has been extended. The doors are plain cottage-style. This group of cottages is an attractive feature in relation to the churchyard.
