Description

These are a pair of cottages, built in 1827. They stand to the west of St. Mary’s Church in Herriard. The cottages have a symmetrical front with three windows. They are two stories high and have a hipped slate roof. The walls are red brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with blue bricks used as headers. The window and arch openings are cambered. A central archway leads into a recess where two plain doors face each other. The windows are casements. A stone oval plaque, inscribed with the date 1827, sits above the arch. Taller rear extensions were added in the mid-19th century.
