Description
Nos 3 and 4 are a pair of cottages built in 1828, located to the south-west of St Mary's Church. The cottages form a long block with a late 19th-century extension, which has one window, added to the south side of the original symmetrical arrangement of four windows. The buildings are two storeys high and feature hipped slate roofing. The walls are made of red brick laid in Flemish bond with blue headers, and they have cambered openings. The middle section of the ground floor has four arches, with the two inner arches containing windows and the outer arches serving as doorways. The cottages have casement windows and half-glazed arched doors. In the centre of the building, there is a flush stone oval plaque inscribed with "GPJ 1828."
