Description
No. 18 Ampton Road is a former curate's house built around 1865-70, located next to Walker Hall in Edgbaston. The building is two storeys high with an attic, constructed of red brick featuring restrained polychrome banding and stone dressings. It has an off-centre gabled break and gabled dormers on the left side. The main gable is adorned with pierced bargeboards. The windows are hollow chamfered stone mullions, with two and three lights, featuring rounded, almost horseshoe-shaped heads, and are dressed in stone above as flush lunettes. There is a gabled stone porch at the angle of the return to the set-back wing, which includes a spherical triangle window on the first floor and a single light ground floor window similar to the others.
