Description

Wiggerland Wood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century. It is a timber-framed cottage that was refronted and extended in red brick to the east and north in the 18th century. The older part of the building has two storeys and an attic, with brick infill panels in the timber frame. It features a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. There are two three-light casement windows under segmental brick arches on either side of a gabled brick porch, along with two two-light casements on the first floor and one gabled attic dormer. A single brick ridge chimney stack is present.

To the east of the older section, there is a small 18th-century red brick addition on a sandstone plinth, which consists of one room. This addition has a three-light casement window and a two-light casement on the first floor, both under segmental brick arches, along with one tall brick chimney stack. To the north, at the rear of the older portion, is a larger 18th-century brick addition that has two storeys and twin gables facing north. This addition features a large chimney stack with an ashlar base and a brick stack that projects from its east elevation. Inside the older portion, there are chamfered and end stopped ceiling beams.
