Pair of houses. c1840. Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond with stuccoed bays and Welsh slate roof with cast-iron railings. 2 storeys with basement, 4 first-floor windows. First floor: 6/6 sashes with sills in plain reveals with cambered arches, those windows to right to each house are smaller. Ground floor: flight of 6 roll-edged steps to right entrances, alike, deeply-recessed 3-panel doors with overlights, opening has frieze. Triangular bays on aprons, each has two 6/6 sashes with sills, cornice and blocking course. Basement has four 6/6 sashes. Tall end and roof stacks, with further stacks to rear, all with cornices. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: simple cast-iron railings to sides of steps and areas.
