Description

This building, likely dating from the 17th century, is situated at 59, 59A and 61 Smith Street, and also at 40 Priory Road. It is a two-storey building with an attic. The shopfronts were replaced in the 19th century. The first floor windows have leaded lights set within metal casements and wooden frames. Nos 59 and 59A feature two gabled dormers, and their walls have a roughcast rendering. No 61 has been clad to resemble framing and has a gable end facing east towards St John's. The roof is covered with old tiles. The building forms a group with Nos 55 to 61 (odd), including Nos 57A and 59A, and contributes to group value.
