Description
50 and 52 High Street are two storey buildings dating from the 18th century, possibly with a core from the 17th century. Each building has two windows. They feature tiled gabled roofs with stone slab verges on No 52. No 50 has a plastered front with altered windows in the reveals, and it includes two 19th century shop windows flanking a central doorway with a modern tile stall riser. No 52 is stuccoed and has sash windows that are four panes wide in the reveals. The shop front on the ground floor of No 52 is similar to that of No 50. There is a wooden boarded door leading to a central passageway between the two buildings, which has timber-framing. A central brick stack is present, and No 52 has a slightly higher frontage and is set back slightly. Nos 48 to 54 (even) and 54A form a group.
