Description
Honington Hall features entrance gates on the left side, consisting of two gatepiers from the 17th and 18th centuries. The inner gatepier is made of brick with vermiculated rusticated limestone, likely dating to around 1685. The outer gatepier, which leads to the footway, is constructed of ashlar and is probably from the 18th century. Both piers are topped with entablatures that have ball finials and carvings of cherub's heads set between swags and drapery in the friezes. The gates themselves are wooden.
