Description
Honington Glebe is a vicarage, now a house, dating from the 18th century with 19th-century additions to the rear. It is constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond, featuring yellow limestone quoins and dressings around the windows and door. The building has a steeply pitched Welsh slate roof with stone-coped gables and brick end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range.
The garden front features a central recessed entrance with moulded stone surrounds and a keystoned head. The recessed doorway has a moulded wood surround and a partly panelled and glazed door with a geometric pattern, along with an overlight that also has a geometric design. Flanking the entrance are 16-pane sash windows with keystoned stone-cased surrounds and stone lintels. The first floor has three similar windows, and there are three flat-roofed dormers. The building is set on a stone plinth, with rusticated limestone quoins, a stone string course at the first floor, and a moulded and chamfered stone eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
