Description
Cathole is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed from squared, coursed limestone, featuring quoins and coped gables. The roof is designed to imitate stone slate and includes an ashlar ridge and end stack. The building has three storeys and a four-window range, with an L-shaped plan. At the center, there is a part-glazed, six-panelled door set within a 20th-century stone porch. On the first floor, there are 20th-century paned casements in the original openings, each with stone lintels that have keyblocks, positioned to the left, right, and center. The second floor features four 20th-century paned casements with wooden lintels. Additional casements can be found at the rear, also with stone lintels and keyblocks. Inside, the farmhouse displays chamfered spine beams with double broach, ogee, and plain stops, a large open fireplace with a timber bressumer, and some stone flagged floors.
