Description
Foxcote House is a former Roman Catholic chapel from the 18th century, now used as a garage, with an attached cottage range to the east. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features stone end stacks, with asbestos roofs. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The centre has a large modern opening, while to the right is a round-headed opening with a keystone. Above, there are three 18-pane sash windows. The rear has four round-headed sashes, including one part-blocked round-headed sash on the left.
Attached to the left and projecting forward is a two-storey cottage range. This section includes a room on the centre right with a stone lintel, flanked by a 22-pane sash window on the left and a 12-pane sash on the right, with another 12-pane sash to the centre left. There are also two double garage doors to the left. The first floor features a range of five windows: one is blind, one is boarded, two have 9-pane sashes, and one has a 2-light casement. All windows have stone lintels. The interior has not been inspected. John Mannock is noted to have been the chaplain here from 1709 to 1759. The building is included for its group value.
