Description

Farmhouse. Built in the early and mid-18th century, it is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with quoins and has a coped gable to the left side. It features a plinth to the left gable end. The roof is covered with stone slate, with an ashlar ridge and end stacks that have moulded bases and cornices. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window front. The plan is based on three units. A 20th-century door is flanked by a 20th-century timber gabled porch. To the right of the door is a 19th-century cross casement with a stone flat arch. The first floor has three cross casements with stone lintels and keystones. At the rear, the ground and first floors have 18th-century three-light leaded casements, some with original glass, although two casements have been partly renewed. Inside, the floors are of stone slabs, and there are chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. Two fireplaces remain open, featuring timber bressumers. A bread oven, projecting from the front of one fireplace, bows outwards.
