Description

Mabels Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on the east side of Back Street in Ilmington. The farmhouse is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with a concrete tile roof, and features rendered ridge stacks. It is two storeys high with a two-window range. A 19th-century plank door with an iron hood is located centrally on the left side. There are 20th-century three-light casement windows with wood lintels to the left and far right, and a range of three 2- and 3-light 20th-century casements to the first floor, two of which have wood lintels. Further 20th-century three-light casements are found at the rear. These windows occupy their original openings. The house is reportedly to have had a datestone indicating the year 1710. The interior includes a spine beam with run-out stops, some stone flagged floors, and an 18th-century plank staircase partition.
