Description
Spring Lane Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early to mid 17th century, with 20th-century additions on the left and an outshut to the right. The building features square panels of timber-framing with diagonal braces, plaster infill, and a renewed tile roof with brick stacks. It has a three-unit plan.
The exterior consists of one storey and an attic, with a three-window range. On the right side, there are three 20th-century casement windows, along with three gabled dormers that also have 20th-century casements. The outshut extension includes a 20th-century window. Inside, there are two internal stacks, and the partition walls reveal exposed timber-framing. The upper floor is believed to have a close-studded partition wall.
