Description
Forge Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations, including a 20th-century extension at the rear. The building features square panels of timber-framing with painted brick infill and has a steeply-pitched, renewed plain tile roof. It has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic, showcasing a two-window range. The 20th-century entrance includes a plank door set within a moulded wood frame and is sheltered by a 20th-century porch. Flanking the entrance are 20th-century casement windows, and there are two gabled dormers in the attic. The house has end and lateral stacks. Inside, the ground floor reveals exposed beams and rafters.
