Description

The Malthouse is a late 17th-century house, with later additions, situated on Queen's Street, Halford. It is constructed of finely jointed regular coursed limestone rubble with a steeply pitched 20th-century tile roof and brick end stacks on rendered bases. Stone copings feature moulded stone kneelers. The building has a T-plan layout and is two storeys high plus an attic. The front elevation has a two-window range. A 20th-century central entrance porch with a hipped tile roof sits before the main entrance, flanked by a three-light and a four-light stone mullioned window with hood mould and label stops. The first floor has two similar windows, also three-light. Wrought-iron springs and casement fasteners are present. There are three gabled 20th-century roof dormers. A conservatory is attached to the right side of the building. The interior remains uninspected.
