Description

This is a late 17th-century house located on the east side of Queen’s Street, Grasmere. It is constructed of finely jointed coursed limestone rubble with a steeply pitched 20th-century tile roof and a brick end stack on the left. The original house has a single-unit plan with a single-storey extension to the right. The house has two storeys plus an attic, and a single-window facade. The right-hand entrance features a moulded wood door frame, a planked door, and a gabled 20th-century porch. Ground floor and first-floor windows are 3-light stone-mullioned with opening lights and hood moulds with label stops. A 20th-century roof dormer is also present. The extension to the right has a limestone wall facing the road, brick to the right side, and a stone slate roof with a brick end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
