Description

This is a house located at 2 Tower Hill, built around 1835. It is made of red brick with stucco decorations and features a brick dentil cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with brick chimneys located at the rear. The house has a central staircase plan and is designed in the latest Georgian style, comprising two storeys and an attic, with three bays across the front and one bay deep.

The entrance features a six-panelled door with a fanlight above and a panelled intrados, framed by a moulded wood architrave. There is a contemporary trellis porch. The windows are 16-pane sash types, each with stucco flat arches that include voussoirs and keystones. The narrower central windows are blank on the second floor and have cornice hoods supported by consoles.

At the rear, there is a lower two-storey wing with one window. Additionally, there is a granary attached to the rear of the house, which faces Icknield Street. This granary, dating from the early to mid-19th century, is constructed of lias stone with brick dressings, also featuring a brick dentil cornice and a tiled roof. It has two storeys and three openings, each with brick segmental arches, and a door located on the left between the floors. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
