Description

No. 2 High Street is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame with a stone plinth and brick infill, topped by a tile roof and 20th-century brick chimneys. The building likely had a two-unit plan before alterations were made. It stands two storeys high and has a six-window range. The front has a 20th-century studded plank door and metal casements from around 1920. Both the door and the ground-floor windows are covered by shallow tile hoods with shaped brackets. Although the interior has not been inspected, there is a 20th-century wing that curves back to the right, constructed of whitewashed brick with imitation timber framing and roughcast on the first floor.
