Description

Hardwick Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with a later 18th-century front range. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone with an old tile roof, and has 19th-century brick end and ridge stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the 17th-century range located to the rear right. The 17th-century range includes a plank door within a 20th-century porch, a 3-light stone mullioned window with ovolo moulding and a hood mould, and further wood casements above. A rear window is also mullioned. The 18th-century facade is two storeys high with a three-window range. It has a part-glazed door with a stone lintel and quoined architrave. The windows are 16-pane sashes with wood lintels, quoined architraves, and stone sills. Inside the 17th-century range, there are chamfered beams with ogee stops. The 18th-century range also has chamfered beams.
