Description

The Bell Inn and the adjoining house to the west are located on The Green in Tanworth-in-Arden. This building dates from the mid-19th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick, featuring a painted facade on the left and a painted stucco front facade on the right, topped with renewed gabled plain-tile roofs.

The main structure is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The left section has two lower storeys and two first-floor windows. At the base, there is a plinth. On the first floor, there are 6/6 sash windows throughout; the two on the left have flat channelled arches with raised keystones, while the three on the right have tooled architraves with splayed shoulders and cornices on corbels, with sills and plain architraves present on all.

On the ground floor, the left range features a central six-panel door with an overlight and hood. The right range has two off-centre entrances with part-glazed doors and overlights. The windows from left to right include two 6/6 sashes, a tripartite window of a 6/6 sash between two 2/2 sashes, another 6/6 sash, and a second tripartite window as before. The two left windows have flat channelled arches, while those on the right have tooled architraves with splayed shoulders and a cornice on consoles for the first window, followed by windows and entrances under a continuous cornice on corbels. The right range also has an eaves band. The left range has an end stack, while the right range features end stacks and a ridge stack, all adorned with cornices.

The interior has not been inspected. All the listed buildings on The Green form a group.
