Description
Walnut Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a timber frame, brick and rendered infill, and brick construction. It features a tile roof and brick chimneys. The building has a two-unit plan that has been extended to three units. It stands two storeys high and has one window. The gable end facing the street has Gothic bargeboards and was rebuilt in the 19th century. It has a jettied section over a bay window with wooden mullions. The left side retains 17th-century framing and has a largely 19th-century timber frame porch with a 20th-century ribbed door. The right side features a large 17th-century external chimney stack with two diagonally-set decorated shafts, alongside a similar but thinner 19th-century stack. There is a catslide roof between these stacks. The rear and right side have 19th-century additions. The interior has not been inspected.
