Description
The Cottage at Famington Farm is a 17th-century building located in Bidford-on-Avon. It features a timber frame with close panelling and brick infill set on a brick plinth. The right end has jowled posts, and the cottage is topped with an old tile roof and has a brick external stack on the left end. The layout is a two-unit plan, consisting of one storey and an attic, which includes a central dormer. The front has a 19th-century plank door framed in simple chamfered wood, along with 19th-century casement windows. The left end wall has been entirely rebuilt in brick, and the right end is partly rebuilt, while the rear displays exposed framing. Inside, there is a broad chamfered ceiling beam, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, a range, and an oven built into the wall beside it. The staircase features a quarter turn with winders. Additionally, a 20th-century outhouse has been constructed against the right end of the cottage.
