Description

This is a barn and cow house located approximately 25 meters southwest of Burton Farmhouse, which is not included in this listing. The structure likely dates from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th or early 19th century. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding above late 18th or 19th-century brick infill, set on a blue lias rubble plinth, and has a tiled roof. The building is arranged in an L-shape.

The exterior consists of a three-bay structure with a central threshing floor and square framing supported by tension braces. A three-bay cow house projects to the left of the threshing floor. The barn entrance has paired 20th-century doors with strap hinges, and the roof is gabled. The cow house has a brick front on the right return, with blue brick quoins indicating a wide entrance. The end and left return walls are timber-framed, with the left return featuring an attached 20th-century open-fronted shed. The rear of the barn has barn doors.

Inside the barn, there are tie beam trusses with diagonal struts, double purlins with wind braces, and two inserted 20th-century trusses with passing braces. The threshing floor is flagged. The cow house contains three tie beam trusses with struts, one of which is next to the barn wall.
