Description
The Lodge is a lodge building dating from around 1841, with a later addition at the rear. It is constructed of painted brick and features a fishscale tile roof, along with a brick stack that has fluted shafts. The building is designed in the Tudor style and has an L-plan layout, with the front section on the left. It is a single-storey structure with a three-window range.
A verandah under the main roof is supported by brick piers and has a scalloped fascia and barge-boards, complete with finials on two gablets. The entrance is located at the right end and features a panelled door. The window on the left end is a two-light casement with pointed panes, a moulded sill, and panelled shutters. The central canted oriel has small-paned casements with pointed lights and panelled shutters, while the window on the right has three pointed lights. The right return of the building has two gables, one of which has a finial. The rear left return also displays barge-boards and finials. The Lodge was built as part of the development of the unsuccessful Bishopton Spa.
