Description

The gate pier located immediately to the north-west of Clopton House is likely from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and features an ashlar band and finial. The pier has a brick band beneath an ashlar cornice, with a finial shaped like a lion holding a cartouche. This pier is one of a pair; the other pier is connected to a wall that extends from the rear of the stable block built in the 1840s. The pier is attached by a short wall to a farmhouse, which is not included in this listing.
