Description

Church Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with later alterations, located in Stratford-upon-Avon. The structure is timber-frame with whitewashed brick and a thatched roof, featuring brick stacks. Originally comprising two units plus an outshut, the cottage is single-storey with an attic. A catslide roof extends from the outshut on the right, above a single-window range. A 20th-century plank door is positioned on the return of the outshut. The windows are 2-light casements with small panes, and iron opening mechanisms. The ground-floor window has a small square window to the left, while the outshut has two small lights. An eyebrow dormer with a 2-light casement sits above. The timber framing incorporates square framing with brick infill. The left return features a triangular first-floor oriel. At the rear, an external brick stack rises with a stepped top, and to the left, a catslide outshut adjoins a 20th-century single-storey wing constructed of blue bricks. A section of a wall post is visible, along with single- and 3-light casements with small panes.
