Description
Coffee House Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century or early 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber-frame structure with a roughcast front and some brick on the return and rear. The building has a gabled roof covered with old tiles, along with a brick end stack and a rear stack. The layout consists of three units.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The first floor jetties out on irregular brackets. The entrance is framed with an architrave leading to a six-fielded-panel door, which includes two glazed panels. To the left of the entrance is a window with a 4/8 sash, while the right side has a three-light small-paned casement. On the first floor, there is a central window with an architrave leading to a two-light casement, accompanied by a tiny light to the right. The end gabled half-dormers feature three-light casements with iron opening casements.
At the rear, there are three brick gabled wings that extend the width of the building. Two of these wings are from the 18th century and have old tile roofs, with one wing featuring a large end stack. The large wing on the right is a 20th-century addition with a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
