Description
Stone Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, with the rear and right return walls rebuilt around 1990. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. There is a platt band above the ground floor and a sill band at the first floor, along with wide eaves. The entrance includes a 20th-century glazed porch and a glazed door. The windows have flat arches with keys above them and consist of two-light small-paned horizontally sliding sashes, with a central blind window on the first floor. Lean-to outshuts are present at each end, featuring straight parapets, with the right side having a small casement window. The rear wall is blind. This cottage is a rare example of stone construction in Stratford and is included for its group value.
