Description

Weavers Hill is a house dating from the early 19th century. It has solid walls, partly made of stone rubble and covered with roughcast, while the rear wing is rendered. The roofs are slated and feature blue glazed ridge-tiles. There are rendered chimneystacks on each gable and a third chimneystack with an exposed brick top on the left-hand slope of the rear wing roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the rear wing possibly being a later addition, and a lean-to, likely another addition, located behind the right-hand side of the front range. The front range now has only one ground-storey room, but it originally had two with a through-passage between them.

The house is two storeys high with a symmetrical front that has two windows and a doorway in the centre. The doorway features a plank door with a small window that was added later, framed with bead-moulded wood. A shallow 20th-century wooden porch is present. The windows are 8-paned sashes that contain a significant amount of old glass. The right-hand side wall has only one small window on each storey, which are 2-paned casements. The left gable has no windows, but the wing has one window at the right-hand end of each storey, featuring a 2-pane sash with horns. There is also a 20th-century sliding door at the left-hand end of the ground storey. The interior has been somewhat altered but retains a few plain early 19th-century details, including panelled shutters on the front ground-storey windows. Weavers Hill is included for its group value.
