GV II

House. Early C19. Solid walls, partly at least of stone rubble, covered with roughcast; rear wing rendered. Slated roofs with blue glazed ridge-tiles. Rendered chimneystack on each gable and a third, with exposed brick top, on left- hand slope of rear-wing roof. L-shaped plan, the rear wing possibly a later addition; lean-to, probably another addition, behind right-hand side of front range. Latter now has only 1 ground-storey room, but originally had 2 with through- passage between them. 2 storeys. Symmetrical front 2 windows wide with doorway in centre. Plank door with small window inserted later; bead-moulded wood frame. Shallow C20 wood porch. Windows are 8-paned sashes containing a lot of old glass. Right-hand side-wall has only 1 small window in each storey, a 2-paned casement. Left-hand gable has no windows, but wing has 1 window at right-hand end of each storey, this containing a 2-pane sash with horns. C20 sliding door at left-hand end of ground storey. Interior; somewhat altered, has a few plain early C19 details, including panelled shutters to front ground-storey windows. Included for Group Value.
