Description
Tramway House is a toll house located at the north-west end of the tramway bridge in Stratford-upon-Avon, built between 1825 and 1826 for the Stratford and Moreton Tramway. The building is constructed of brick and has a slate roof, featuring two storeys and a two-window range. It has a top modillioned brick cornice. The ground floor has small-paned windows with 20th-century metal small-paned glazing, while the first floor has segmental-headed windows with two-light small-paned casements. The right side of the building, which faces the bridge, includes a gate that connects the house to the bridge's parapet, along with a segmental-headed entrance that has a gabled canopy and a half-glazed door to the right of a segmental-headed window with a two-light small-paned horizontally sliding sash. There is a similar window on the first floor, and the building features a lateral stack. On the left side, there is a wall-mounted lantern.
