Description
Nos. 11 and 13 Market Street are shops and dwellings located in Atherstone, dating from the early 19th century, with contemporary shop fronts. The buildings are constructed of Flemish bond brick, featuring a whitewashed ground floor and a moulded wood or rendered cornice. They have a plain-tile roof and no chimneys, with a double-depth plan. The structure rises three storeys and has three bays.
No. 13, on the left, has a 20th-century half-glazed door with an overlight and a segmental bay that contains a curved 16-pane sash window. No. 11 features a central half-glazed door with an overlight and two segmental bow windows with glazing bars. Both buildings have reeded wood pilasters and entablatures throughout. The first floor includes a rendered sill course, while the sashes and 6-pane sashes on the second floor are adorned with rusticated rendered flat arches that have keyblocks. The central bay of the building has painted blind windows.
