Description

The building is a barn that includes stables, an attached cartshed, and a cowhouse, located approximately 30 meters south of The Hollies Farmhouse. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and is constructed of red and blue brick with a plain-tile roof. The barn and stables are aligned north-south and face east, while the cartshed is attached to the south and shares the same alignment, with the cowhouse positioned to the southwest on an east-west alignment.

The structure features a single-storey threshing floor bay, flanked by a pair of stables that have lofts above. There is a toothed eaves band and the building consists of three bays, with a central double-leaf barn door, a stable door, and a loft hatch on each side; all openings have segmental heads. The loft of the left-hand bay includes two tiers of air vents. The single-storey cartshed is attached to the left side and has main doors on the left gable.

Inside, there are king-post roof trusses over the barn and stable block. The single-storey cowhouse at the rear has three roof bays and two roof trusses featuring cambered tie beams and raking struts that extend to the principal rafters.
