Description

Wheeley Moor Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse with later additions. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, characterized by a first-floor band and a toothed eaves band. The front facade has three windows and is dominated by a central porch and staircase wing that has a dentilled eaves band and a pyramidal roof.

On the ground floor, there is a central tall fixed-light glazing bar window set within a segmental arched recess, with a blind window above that is painted to resemble glazing bars. The main body of the house has windows that are 19th or 20th-century glazing bar sashes set within 18th-century openings that have segmental heads. The attic features dormers with hipped roofs. There is a 20th-century door located on the left side of the porch.

To the right, there is a two-storey extension that is set back and has roughly three bays with irregular fenestration. A lean-to extension is positioned in front of the left bay, with its roof extending to the right as a canopy over a plank door. On the right side of the rear elevation, there is a 19th-century two-storey canted bay with a hipped slate roof, featuring 20th-century French casements and 19th-century glazing bar sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
