Description

No. 69 on Coventry Road in Coleshill is a late 18th-century house constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof featuring raised verges and brick ridge stacks. The building has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic. It includes a first-floor band and a moulded brick eaves cornice. The façade has three bays with 16-pane glazing bar sash windows that have gauged brick heads. The right-hand bay appears to be an addition, marked by a straight joint with the main block. To the left of the centre, there is a six-panel door framed by a panelled wooden doorcase, topped with a rectangular overlight featuring patterned glazing bars and a bracketed pediment. There is a single-bay extension to the right, which is one storey and has an attic. This extension includes a segmental-headed casement window on the ground floor and an attic dormer with a hipped roof. Inside, the left front room features wall panelling up to the height of a chair rail and a fireplace with a moulded cast iron surround. At the rear of the house, there is a late 18th-century straight staircase with turned balusters.
