Description
This cottage, located approximately 10 yards north-west of Home Farmhouse, was built in 1786 and remodelled in 1849. It features coursed and squared freestone blocks with herringbone tooling and a plain tile roof that has shaped tile bands and coped verges topped with ball finials. The cottage is aligned north-west to south-east and consists of one storey and an attic with a corbelled upper storey.
The facade has a layout of three bays, with a central gabled bay and gabled attic dormers on both the left and right sides. The windows include 2-light chamfered mullioned windows with rebated surrounds, a similar 3-light window on the ground floor to the left, and a 3-light bay window on the right featuring a corbelled sill, basket arch lights, and sunken spandrels. There is a central single-light attic window and a door with a cambered head and moulded surround.
On the left gable, there are two panels inscribed with "C.B./1786" and "I.B./ TRANSTULIT / 1849".
