Mileplate. Early C19. Cast iron. Rectangular plate with triangular head set into a drystone retaining wall and inscribed: "TO / ALTON / ABBEY / 2 / MILES". The mileplate is on a former drive beginning at Threapwood Lodge (q.v.) and leading to Alton Towers (q.v. Farley C.P.) via Pink Lodge (q.v. Farley C.P.).
